A Masterclass with Maxim Vengerov

Maxim Vengerov is the Menuhin Professor of Music at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and I’ve been lucky enough to see a few of his masterclasses.

I was browsing the Jerwood Library and came across this amazing DVD tucked away which is a recording of Vengerov taking a masterclass with a girl called Aya Sanada, on Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E.

I’m so happy to have found this as it is the piece I intend to perform for my 3rd year final and that I have been working on for the last few months. I can’t wait to watch it!

The library has a catalogue of other masterclasses for other instruments as well, so it’s definitely worth a browse.
